European Literature Night is an international cultural initiative promoting recently publish literary works by European authors. This is a European cultural event dedicated to the intellectual contribution of literary authors and their work as well as to that of translators, publishing houses and city venues making possible the encounter between reader/listener and the literary work. The preselected passages from contemporary European authors are read in Bulgarian simultaneously in each city every half an hour from 18:00 to 22:00 h.

To present some of the literary works in their original language, this year we are joined by local foreigners and Bulgarians who have worked or studied abroad. The audience will be able to enjoy readings in Portuguese, Polish, French (two readings – Belgian and French author), Spanish, English (Irish author), German, and Russian.
