○ Kinetic space and body boundaries in dance – paridigm shift with contemporary dance, dynamics of individual and collective space, interaction with the enviroment
○ Boundaries, borders and rules in contemporary dance?
○ The body as a tool for artistic expression and the formation of key competences

“Beyond all cultural and historical limits and in all social and artistic contexts, dance is a bearer of practical knowledge of the body and movement. At the same time, its fleeting character presents a challenge to scholarship. Dance studies thus represents a point of intersection between various disciplines and the arts in a period in which discourses of dynamism, movement, and the body shape all areas of scholarship.” MA Tanzwissenschaft / Freie Universität Berlin

IVETA MARINOVA is completing her master’s degree in Dance Studies (MA Tanzwissenschaft) at Berlin’s largest university – Freie Universität Berlin, a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary programme developed by Prof. Dr. Gabriele Brandstetter. Iveta studies the theoretical and practical aspects of dance and explores in depth key concepts and interesections such as dance and gravity, politics, gender, dance texts (Tanztexten). In her research, she explores the legacy of Anna Huber and interaction with space, Tomas Howard and the concept of the flock, and Koffi Koko with African dance and ritual in contemporary dance techniques. Iveta is currently completing her thesis on dance improvisation and the development of personal and social competences. Iveta was born in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, graduated with a digree in business administration from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and later moved to Berlin in Germany to study the theory of contemporary dance.
