Concept
RoboDay is an initiative by Varna Technical University, Bulgaria, coordinated by its Robotics and Mechatronics Student Club. Amorpha Youth Group partners the initiative since 2013 when we suggested broadening the event’s portfolio to explore Robotics in an interdisciplinary context. This means addressing the application of Robotics in other fields as well as drawing on the achievements, findings and approaches of such other fields and vice versa. The interdisciplinary approach has contributed to discovering new crossing points, exchanging knowledge and launching joint projects. Promoting the event, Amorpha draws attention to young female participants and their achievements in presentation panels and competitions to foster recognition of the need to attract more young women to academia in all addressed fields, especially robotics. It is Amorpha’s ambition to discover a viable cross-section between robotics and the arts in the upcoming editions of RoboDay.
