ARCHIGRAFF Project

ARCHIGRAFF is a project that creates an encounter between some of the most experience graffiti and street artists in the country, architecture students and recent graduates in architecture, established architects, construction engineers, producers of painting materials and citizens interested in urban transformation. Our goal is to create shared interest and supportive conditions for collaborations among established experts and young professionals in the above cross-cutting, as we see them, areas. ARCHIGRAFF places a special focus on integrating urban visual art projects from the earliest stages of conceptualisation and design in architecture projects. This will provide conditions for powerful and outstanding art in the urban setting which is assigned sufficient funds and respected role allowing it to move forward. Thus, we are looking forward to such architecture projects based on greater understanding, clearer vision and encompassing policy planning about how citizens reconsider and transform the urban setting of the city they inhabit.

Amorpha partners on the project in 2013-2014: Union of Bulgarian Architects, Varna Municipality, Varna Free University – Architecture and Urban Planning Department, Funcity Youth Festival 2014, Varna Candidacy for Youth Capital, Arhis Gallery. We express gratitude to Na Tamno Shops and Montana Spain for the spray cans used to create the large-scale graffiti and street art project by all participant urban artists at the Port of Varna. Project events in July 2014 participate in the programme of Funcity Youth Festival.

Events

Working meeting at the Union of Bulgarian Architects
Participants include urban artists DILOM, ESTEO, FARS, NASIMO, SHIONE, XPOME, 140 IDEAS, DESTRUCTIVE CREATION, PYROTECHNIX CREW, SUNSHINERS and final-year and recent graduate architecture students from Varna Free University Yoana Atanasova, Raya Daskalova, Mario Doychinov, Viktoria Grigorova, Sanya Kovacheva, Vera Palozova, Yavor Panev, Vencislav Vulchev. Professional support and mentoring on the project by established architects Stancho Vekov, Georgi Bachev, Borislav Ignatov, Valery Gyurov and Todor Daskalov. The three-day working meeting includes topical presentations, project sessions developing joint interdisciplinary projects, input by professional architects and meetings with strategic producers. The working meeting is hosted by the House of Architects in Varna.

Features joint graffiti and architectural projects with urban artists DILOM, ESTEO, FARS, NASIMO, SHIONE, XPOME, 140 IDEAS, DESTRUCTIVE CREATION, PYROTECHNIX CREW, SUNSHINERS and final-year and recent graduate architecture students from Varna Free University Yoana Atanasova, Raya Daskalova, Mario Doychinov, Viktoria Grigorova, Sanya Kovacheva, Vera Palozova, Yavor Panev, Vencislav Vulchev. The exhibition presents the final joint interdisciplinary projects by one graffiti or street artist and one young architect creating or interpreting a building with a large-scale mural as its integral part. Professional support and mentoring during the development of the joint projects by established architects Stancho Vekov, Georgi Bachev, Borislav Ignatov, Valery Gyurov and Todor Daskalov. The exhibition is hosted by the House of Architects in Varna.
